Bagamoyo Town

Bagamoyo

This was once another stopping point for caravans on their way to central Tanzania in search of ivory and slaves, it was an important trading port along the east African coast making it one of the centers for colonial predecessors in Tanzania. On the present day, Bagamoyo is part of the coastal region (just out of Dar es salaam) in Tanzania a laid-back town where visitors head to learn colonial day history or relax at its stunning beaches

Bagamoyo Old Mosque

Visiting the Old Boma;

Was built and used by the Germans as their state house and leader’s residence at the end of the 19th Century before being moved to Dar es Salaam. The same building was used by the British as offices after World War One when the Germans lost the war. After Independence, it was under the Government of Tanzania before being turned into a historical building.
